  • Clothes

Please bring clothes! This is not that kind of retreat…lol.

This is Nebraska and for us locals we know we can get all 4 seasons in the same week. With that said, check the weather and pack accordingly.

Keep is casual. You are hear to relax, commune with nature, hang with friends/family and disconnect from the world (even if it’s just for a bit).

Tekamah has a great pool in town, so if you want to take a dip pack some swimwear and swim gear.

  • Layers

Layers are always a great idea! Remember, all 4 seasons in a week.

Of course, if it’s the middle of summer you won’t need so many.

Spring and fall…Well they’re the unpredictable ones.

We recommend your basic attire of course but also:

    • Some Comfy Lounge Pants

    • Sweatshirt/Hoody

    • Beanie

    • Gloves

    • Scarf/Pashmina

    • Raincoat/Windbreaker

*Note: Not all layers make sense for all times of the year. You will sweat like a… (insert favorite saying here) in the summer if you rock a beanie and hoody. On the other side of the coin that same beanie and hoody will come in handy early spring and fall.

  • Shoes & Accessories

May we recommend the following for your stay:

    Footwear:

    • Sneakers (for walking around the grounds)

    • Flip Flops/Thongs/Slides/Sandals (for chillin’ at the glampsite)

    • Slippers/Slippys/House Shoes/Fuzzy Socks (for relaxing inside the tent)

*Disclaimer: ALA doesn’t recommend packing those awesome new kicks you just bought and don’t want to muck up just yet. You may get them a little muddy or dirty. This is nature after all.

    Accessories:

    • Baseball Cap/Sun Hat (protect that beautiful face)

    • Sunglasses

    • Tiara (jk…but if you want to, you do you)

  • Gear

“Gear”…sounds so camping doesn’t it. Never fear you will require minimal gear. We got you covered (mostly).

Here are some extras you may want to consider:

    • Water Bottle

    • Sunscreen

    • Bug Repellent

    • Cooler (if you think you’ll need more that what the mini fridge will hold)

    • Other Toiletries not previously listed

  • Entertainment & Technology

Our goal at ALA is to provide a venue that allows our guest to unwind and disconnect from the tech and connect with nature and the people around you (scary, we know but we believe in you).

Currently we don’t offer Wi-Fi in any of our tents.

    Insert mouth drop here

Whhaaattttt!!??…Is what your saying (or thinking) right now.

Not all is analog. We do have Wi-Fi up by the Morton building (big building).

May we suggest you try out the following less high-tech forms of entertainment:

    • Bring & Read a book/Magazine/Newspaper (actually printed on paper)

    • Pen and Paper (pencil if you prefer, tap into your inner author or artist)

    • Play a card game (we even provide the cards)

    • Board games (bring your fav that you haven’t busted out in awhile)

    • Camera (phone or otherwise)

      • Yes, we know this one is kind of techy but it technically doesn’t require a connection, so it makes the list

    • Good Conversation/Dad Jokes/Ghost Stories

If you absolutely can’t imagine life without a piece of tech then you may also want to have your favorite movies, TV shows, book(s), or publications downloaded prior to your stay.

There are plugs available in your tent to charge your phone/tablet/laptop/camera/e-reader.

  • Food & Drinks

You may bring your own food and drinks. We provide a mini fridge and microwave plus the firepit.

We highly recommend keep it simple. You aren’t here to do the dishes!

Below we’ve provided a few ideas to get you started.

    Snack on this :

    • Trail mix

    • Granola Bars

    • Beef Jerky (non-beef jerky)

    • Chips

    • All the fixens for a Charcuterie spread

    What’s for breakfast/lunch/dinner:

    • Muffins

    • Cereal Bar

    • Hot Dogs

    • Burgers (veggie or not)
